About Us

Richard and Ruth McCabe-Abel embarked on their first restoration project together in 1994. Starting with an old disused fire station, the couple discovered their passion for rescuing period buildings with potential. As the decades passed, the projects increased in scale and significance - and with their two children and Welsh terrier Dusty - since then, the award-winning McCabe & Abel have taken on countless large-scale Listed and historic properties and buildings of local significance, transforming each into their family homes. Every project brings with it a unique set of challenges, but a consistent belief underlines them all: to preserve our period properties for the next generation. Today, McCabe & Abel have turned their personal experience to consulting others on their projects. We hope you enjoy browsing the website.
